Eric's having a better day today. This morning, he said his stomach was okay, but he still wouldn't eat breakfast. Said his throat hurt. He walked two laps with PT. Played Chinese Checkers and Connect Four with our visitor Mandy. Then ate a few bites of mashed potatoes, peaches, salad, and half a Reese's PB egg for lunch. He was off the vent for three hours this morning and talking with his Passy-Muir valve, getting used to it. They decreased his FiO2, the amount of oxygen, to .27, and his O2 saturation remains 98-100%.
If you've watched the news or read the newspaper, you know the first US death from swine flu happened right here at Texas Children's Hospital. That child was on the 3rd floor in ICU. We're on the 7th floor, hopefully far enough away. I've been saying all along, hospitals are dangerous places. I can't wait to get Eric home. Anticipated discharge date . . . Tuesday!

Tuesday WOW!!! Let's all pray for Tuesday!! As well as continued healing, strength, nourishment, and safety from all the potential dangers of being in the hospital. Love you!
Praying for continued healing and that you all will be protected from any viruses/germs that are present around you. Looking forward to the day when you post reads "We're Home!".
HI Angie,

Father thank you that Eric is the redeemed of the Lord! He is redeemed from swine and every other flu or sickness or disease because "by the stripes that Jesus bore Eric IS healed and MADE whole! Thank you that angels of protection surround Eric so that no evil can touch him. Thank you Lord that all goes well and Eric will be home by Tuesday. In Jesus name I pray. Amen
Have a blessed night.
What great news!! I am so happy that you will soon be home. Tuesday will not get here fast enough. I thank God that Eric has had the healing treatment of knowledgeable doctors in Lake Charles and Houston. We are headed to KY to see Jim's mother but will be home for the Tuesday homecoming. Take care, be safe, be healthy, and enjoy life.
How will Eric come home?
Love and prayers to all,
bev
I thought the child with swine flu was in San Antonio. No?
Praying a hedge of protection around Eric and all of you. Will be so glad when you're home and all is back to normal for you.

That's when the chicken pox case was there along with the "stuff" that was in our shared room-- yup its hard not to get the heebee geebees! sp? And... Its funny that you mention mac and cheese because I can't remember if I told you that I used your recipe from a Ross cookbook in honor of you. well, it would take a while to look it up so if I did there it is again! Tell everybody in the family we send greetings the other Bev------Domasky!
almost home!
you all will do a wonderful job at home, getting Eric fully recovered, together with the help of the good Lord.
