Our cat, Snowflake, died this afternoon. She couldn't keep food down last night or this morning, and she looked terrible, so I took her back to the vet. What had happened was that, because she stopped eating due to the swelling and pain in her throat, her body went into what's called "fatty liver syndrome." The vet thought he could get her through it, but she didn't make it. It's sad. She was only five or six years old.The vet clinic gave us this plaque with an impression of her paw print. Isn't that precious? It has her name and the date. I'd never before known a vet to do that when a pet dies. Of course, I haven't had that many pets die in my lifetime. First Minnie. Then Ivy. And now Snowy. Good cats, every one of them.

I am so sorry for your loss... RIP Snowflake. My sister's vet office does this for pets that die. I do not have ones for my lost pets, but wish I had a nice keepsake. Pets are so special. They love unconditionally and bring such joy. Love to you all...

I'm so sorry to hear about Snowflake. That second picture of her is adorable. It's good that your vet's office gives you a memento--what a nice thing to have when you lose a pet.
So sorry about Snowflake. We lost our Ramona four years ago on Thanksgiving morning.
