Thanksgiving

We had no family to get together with this year for Thanksgiving. So we invited another family here in Moss Bluff, new to the area, to come over and celebrate with us. We spent an enjoyable evening, talking and eating. In addition to the traditional fare, each year we want to include a local dish on our menu. Last year we cooked a turducken. This year we had boudin. Next year . . . I'm thinking gumbo.

I'm glad ya'll were able to welcome the new family and have a great time. (And I love the gumbo comment - possibly a new tradition after ya'll do it next year and see how much easier life is without all the fixins' lol)

And I have to thank you for your Baton Rouge stories. I spoke to my family and we've never been to the plantationsand such and really toured the BR area - so I've convinced them we need to take a trip this summer - and they are all on board!!

Mindy,

Interesting to me that you and yours have not seen much of the Baton Rouge area. Funny how we tend to overlook what's nearly in our own backyards. Makes me wonder what I haven't yet seen here in LC.

Next time you trek off to BR, let us know and we'll send you off with a list of great places to eat. Since Chaney lived there for five years, she hit a lot of them.

Glad you had a great Thanksgiving!
